„Grosse Reise“ („Big trip“), Site specific installation for Kunstverein Ludwigsburg, watercolor and ink on paper, glazed porcelain objects of various sizes, 2009
The wall installation was a site specific project for the solo show „Made in China“ at Kunstverein Ludwigsburg. It´s combining watercolor on paper fragments that were realized before my stay in in China with glazed porcelain objects made in China. The installation reacts to the situation in the former garage with its uneven walls and stained floor and evokes ideas about organic growth as well as landscapes or maps. The water color drawings made before leaving for China where completely destroyed and cut up and matched with the three dimensional objects, creating an irritating fusion between 2D and 3D. The installation can also be seen as a transitional piece between my ceramic sculptures and the later paper cut objects.
